Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson Disney+ series has cast actors to play Luke Castellan and Clarisse La Rue. Based on the book series of the same name, Percy Jackson follows the eponymous character as the teen discovers he's the son of the Greek god Poseidon. Filming began on the series in June of 2022, with Riordan praising early footage as being "amazing." The main cast of Percy Jackson was announced in May of 202o, with The Adam Project star Walker Scobell playing Percy Jackson, Aryan Simhardi playing Grover Underwood, and Leah Sava Jeffries playing Annabeth Chase.
Now, Percy Jackson has found its Luke and Clarisse. The Wrap reports that Charlie Bushnell will play Luke Castellan, and Dior Goodjohn will be Clarisse La Rue. Bushnell is best known for playing Bobby Cañero-Reed in the Disney+ series Diary of a Future President, while Goodjohn is known for her role as Robyn Rook in the HBO Max reboot of the sitcom Head of the Class. Bushnell and Goodjohn will be recurring guest stars, as Luke and Clarrise play an integral part in Percy's life at the camp for demigods, Camp Half-Blood.
Following two Percy Jackson films which garnered mixed reviews from critics but are notorious among fans of the book series, viewers are eager for a faithful adaptation to hit the small screen. Unlike the films, the television adaptation is working closely with Riordan, and Riordan has had a hand in the series' casting choices. With Luke and Clarisse finally cast, Percy Jackson fans are eager to see what Bushnell and Goodjohn will bring to the table.
