The first part of The Owl House's season 2 shockingly ended with the witches stuck in the Human Realm, leaving their fate up in the air. Luckily, the adventure is not over yet, as the series will conclude with a third and final season to resolve matters regarding Belos and hopefully have a proper conclusion for each witch.
One of the many reasons why The Owl House is such a popular show is due to the relatability of its characters. Fans ranging from young kids to older adults can see themselves in the characters; whether it's in Luz's unwavering optimism or Eda's rebellious nature, there's a character for everyone.
One of Luz's character traits is her ability to push through any obstacle. Through her eagerness to explore, her amiable nature, and her determination to learn magic, she becomes a force not to be reckoned with.
Her goal is to find a way back to the human realm, but doing this is not easy. Despite the lack of information available to her, she goes out of her way to seek answers, going so far as time traveling to learn what her human predecessor had. In addition, she has proved herself to be a reliable friend, doing her best to help her loved ones in times of need. The Owl House's fans who relate to Luz may see themselves in her determination and courageousness.
Eda is a strong, confident, and rebellious witch, making her The Owl House's best character. In the beginning, her specialties involved potion brewing, scamming, and performing limitless magic. Later on, she loses her natural magic yet gains the ability to control the Owl Beast.
Eda is a rebel, dating back to her teenage years when she broke several rules during her time as a student. Despite being an outcast, she is still headstrong by insisting on doing things her way. She's also fiercely protective of her loved ones. Those who see themselves in Eda can relate to her rule-breaking morality and confident demeanor.
Raine is Eda's friend back from teenage days, the Bard Coven's head witch, and the Bards Against the Throne's founder. Despite being a bard, Raine struggles to perform well publicly.
Raine isn't outspoken in the same way Eda is, but they do rebel in their own way in order to keep their friends safe. Even if it means keeping up an act and holding their cards close to their chest, they do what is necessary. They are determined to ensure that the least amount of trouble goes to their loved ones. Viewers who see themselves in Raine can understand her reserved nature and consideration.
Gus befriends Luz when she first enters the Demon World. Gus is a loyal friend and illusionist, as well as a rule breaker when he needs to be. He has disobeyed rules of academia on various occasions, ranging from trying to help Luz or for his own benefit.
As the Human Appreciation Club's president at his school, his goal is to become an ambassador to the Human Realm because he aims to create positive change. Like the other main characters, he's also incredibly brave, standing up against Belos for what's right. Many fans who consider Gus their favorite may resonate with his zeal for knowledge and his welcoming persona.
Lilith starts the series as an antagonist and the least likable character in The Owl House, but she has come a long way as her relationship with Edalyn improves. Compared to Edalyn, Lilith was bookish and more reserved. However, Lilith was also high-performing, willing to do whatever it took to join the Emperor's Coven -- even if it meant cursing her sister.
After redeeming herself by taking on half of the curse, Lilith tones down and becomes more friendly. Lilith has shown herself to be protective of her loved ones and able to own up to when she's wrong. Still, she holds on to her competitive and prideful nature. Viewers who see themselves in Lilith may identify with her high-performing nature and more reserved personality.
King is a comedic character, self-absorbed and childish. Craving affection, attention, and power, he spent a lot of time in the beginning of the story trying to restore his title as "King of the Demons" and orders people around as if he's actually a monarch.
Later on, he lets go of this goal and, instead, focuses his time and energy on his loved ones. King also has insecurities; he wondered if his loved ones would continue to appreciate him if he's not the "King of the Demons." A character with layers to his personality, viewers may understand his high regard for himself and his humor.
Hooty is the heart of the Owl House. Even though he's not the most charismatic character -- since most people may be turned off by his oversharing and strong personality --, he still does his best to be friendly and act as the house's protector.
Hooty makes several funny quips throughout the show -- some hits and some misses. He wishes to "be included" on several occasions. However, he isn't completely egoless when he's insulted, and he has others make up for it if desired. But, this does not change the fact that Hooty is protective and caring for his friends. The show's fans may be in tune with his enthusiasm and open-book nature.
In the beginning, Amity is an arrogant bully, especially to Willow. She was also competitive, even disliking the idea of Willow surpassing her in class. However, Amity is capable of redemption, through her softer interactions with Luz.
She hides behind a tough persona, likely made from the high expectations from her parents. Soon, she makes up to Willow for her wrongdoings and gets close to the rest of the characters. She even goes as far as having a romantic relationship with Luz, a great representation for LGBTQ+ couples in animation. Even though she has grown, she still keeps her competitive and strong spirit. Viewers may relate to her dedication and her cool personality.
Willow is friendly and sweet, with a laid-back attitude and a soft-spoken voice. She's also a powerful plant-based witch. Her goal is to be "strong and wise" and to "protect the people she loves." Willow has also proven herself to be athletically inclined, playing sports such as Grudgby and Flying Derby.
Willow is soft-natured, willing to forgive Amity and Hunter for their wrongdoings. She's loyal to her friends, not hesitating to stick up for them - especially when Hunter joins the Flying Derby team and questions the strength of her teammates due to appearance. The show's fans may see themselves in Willow, as she is easily approachable and sweet-hearted.
Darius is a newer addition to the show, as he's introduced as the Abomination coven's head witch. He's shown to mentally defect from the rest of his peers by disagreeing to follow Belos obediently for the Day of Unity. He is shown to test people and see where their loyalties lie.
Darius is prideful and watchful over his appearance, hating the prospect of his clothing getting soiled. He has a posh tone and stands confidently tall. Considering that Darius is a Covens Against the Throne's member, he certainly has a mind of his own and a rebellious streak; Darius means to do good with his power. Those who watch The Owl House may relate to Darius' care for his image and refined persona.
