Sims 4 Werewolves DLC Contains Not-So-Subtle Twilight Easter Egg

The new Sims 4 Game Pack Werewolves contains an Easter egg for fans of Twilight, and it's surprisingly not a reference to the Cullens. The upcoming release of the new werewolf-centric Sims 4 DLC has excited many fans, who will now be able to reenact Twilight properly in-game through a combination of the Werewolves and Vampires Game Packs. Although not all Sims 4 fans enjoy occult gameplay, it looks as though those who do will be able to get an expansive werewolf experience with the new release, including a large amount of lore.

Although the Twilight series is often automatically associated with vampires, werewolf-like creatures are also a key element of the story. In Twilight, wolf shapeshifters run in packs made up of fictional members of the Quileute tribe, some of the most famous members being Jacob Black, Seth and Leah Clearwater, and Embry Call. The Sims 4 offers more lore than some players might expect at first glance, providing a rich history not just for famous neighborhood Sims like Bella Goth, but for never seen characters as well. The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack promises a host of werewolf lore, which can be found anywhere from item descriptions to underground.

A clever Twilight Easter egg has been discovered in the Build and Buy menu of a review copy of The Sims 4 Werewolves. The description of one of the new items, entitled "Werewolf Noir Film Poster," details how the poster swatches are old promotional materials and features some very familiar names. The text reads: "Promotional materials from some of the most popular films featuring iconic Werewolf film stars Sam Quill and Lea Embrie, both born and raised in Moonwood Mill back in the day!Twilight fans will recognize that these two stars' monikers are made up of the names of 4 iconic Twilight shapeshifters - Sam Uley, Quil Ateara, Leah Clearwater, and Embry Call - albeit with the spellings slightly changed.

This inclusion of this very small detail is great news for fans, as it's likely indicative of the extreme amount of lore that will be in The Sims 4 Werewolves. At this point, developers must be aware of the fact that players want to use the new DLC to recreate Twilight in The Sims 4, and this item description is a clever nod to the audience. Even if the names weren't also an amazing Twilight reference, a simple poster featuring a sizable amount of text about the history of the Pack's new town Moonwood Mill is very promising, and points to the level of detail players can expect. This isn't the only object to contain lore in its description either - several other pieces of furniture offer information about Moonwood Mill's past and present residents.

Developers love to hide Easter eggs in The Sims 4, and the small details put into Build and Buy Mode descriptions are often overlooked by many players. The game has hundreds of items that all bear a description, and for every short entry there's another that tells an entire story. This clever nod to Twilight fans in the new Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack shows the amount of care that's gone into the lore of this new DLC, and is a good reminder for players to read item descriptions more often.
