The Arrowverse Just Turned A Fan-Favorite Hero Into Their Winter Soldier

Warning! Spoilers for Earth-Prime: Hero's Twilight #6 by DC Comics

In the far future of the Arrowverse, Mia Queen's Green Arrow has become DC's version of Marvel's Winter Soldier. In the final chapter of the recent Earth-Prime comic book canon crossover, the future fate of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak's daughter is revealed, as she continues to fight in her father's old mantle, but with an all-new feature, as her left arm is entirely metal.

DC's recent Earth-Prime crossover brought several fan-favorite characters back to the spotlight from The CW's Arrowverse. The first five issues of the six-issue miniseries featured numerous heroes including Stargirl, Superman, Lois Lane, Impulse, XS, the Legends of Tomorrow, and more. Each issue featured the villain Magog recruiting other bad guys for his dark army, which faced off against the future Arrowverse heroes in the miniseries' finale. However, one of the surprising faces returning in the final issue was Mia Queen, DC's future Green Arrow, whose new look gives her a connection to Marvel's Winter Soldier.

In Earth-Prime: Hero's Twilight #6 by Jeff Hersh, Thomas Pound, Will Robson, Alex Sinclair, and Tom Napolitano by DC Comics, the future heroes from the Arrowverse take on Magog and his evil army, with Mia Queen's Green Arrow making a surprise appearance during the final battle. Queen shows to be a valuable fighter in the battle against Magog as she protects Star City like her fallen father once did. However, the character receives a considerable change, as like Marvel's Winter Soldier, her left arm is made entirely of metal.

The issue doesn't explain how Mia Queen's Green Arrow lost her arm and/or covered it in metal like the Winter Soldier. But, the new look shows the missed opportunity of what could have been in the Arrowverse. The bold change and how it happened could have been explored in the canceled Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff which was supposed to star Katherine McNarama's Mia Queen. Now, readers are left guessing what happened. Just like they're left guessing about how Mia's dad, Oliver Queen as the Spectre, has somehow returned from the dead.

No matter how she got her metal arm, seeing Mia Queen help her fellow heroes in the future Arrowverse in the canon comic proves to make for an entertaining read. In an unexpected and still-to-be-revealed way, Green Arrow has become DC's Winter Soldier, as her metal arm adds a cool new detail to the fan-favorite hero. Hopefully, readers find out how Green Arrow got the upgrade in the first place in a future Arrowverse story.
