New Ark 2 Trailer Reveals Delayed 2023 Release Date | Screen Rant

During the Xbox and Bethesda event of Summer Game Fest 2022, fans finally got a new look at the upcoming Ark 2 with a new cinematic trailer, alongside news that the highly anticipated game will be delayed from 2022 to 2023. Ark 2 was first revealed back in December 2020 with an impressive trailer showing off the game's beautiful environments, threats, and star-studded cast.

Ark: Survival Evolved released in 2015, and sees players fight to survive on an island filled with prehistoric threats. Challenged to face the odds in an action-adventure game that quickly became one of the most memorable dinosaur-focused titles to date, Ark: Survival Evolved received spin-off games in the form of 2018's VR Ark Park, and the sandbox survival game, PixARK. Many fans were hoping for a new mainline entry in the series, and Ark 2's reveal certainly left a positive impression with its new-gen graphics. While the road to Ark 2 has been a long one, developer Studio Wildcard introduced new fans to the series when Ark: Ultimate Survival Edition joined Xbox Game Pass earlier this year.

Revealed during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase of Summer Game Fest (Via the Xbox YouTube Channel), fans have gotten a new look at some of the action in a new Ark 2 video. While the trailer doesn't offer any gameplay, it does provide a beautiful cinematic look at the world of Ark 2, as well as another glance at the characters that will be a part of the action. Unfortunately, it was also revealed at the end of the trailer that Ark 2's initial 2022 release window has been delayed to 2023, with no further details at this time.

The 2020 reveal of Ark 2 impressed players, but this new look at the game is perhaps even more exciting. The original trailer, which focused on Vin Diesel's character Santiago, was captured in-engine but the developer later revealed the project had switched to Unreal Engine 5. This certainly shows in the Summer Game Fest trailer, with improved lighting, shadows, textures, and overall realism. Ark 2 will be an Xbox console exclusive, coming to the Series X/S at launch, though it will also be coming to PC. Judging from the technical prowess seen in the new trailer, it seems skipping last-generation's Xbox One will only benefit the game.

As perhaps one of the more exciting reveals of the Xbox-centric show, Ark 2 certainly hasn't seemed to disappoint, with fans across social media sharing their praise for the upcoming game. While players will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the game, it seems as though the wait may well have been worth it for Ark 2 fans.
