Thor's Twisted Mjolnir Is Taking On Marvel's Greatest Heroes At Once

Warning! Spoilers for Thor #22 by Marvel Comics

As he confronts the God of Hammers, Thor is getting some help in taking down the living embodiment of Mjolnir combined with Mangog. In a new preview for Thor #22 by Marvel Comics, the God of Thunder gets reinforcement from some of Marvel's greatest heroes in stopping the mighty and deadly hammer. However, Thor has seen the damage the twisted version of Mjolnir can cause and is fearful his greatest allies might not be enough to stop it.

Thor learned the shocking truth behind Mjolnir and his lack of control of his longtime weapon, as the prophecy of the God of Hammers slowly became true before his eyes. After Mjolnir became heavy, the hammer eventually disappeared, leaving destruction in its wake, including destroying Nidavellir and the former Asgardian home of Broxton. When Thor finally confronted his hammer, it had taken on a human-like form of pure energy, revealing it bonded with Mangog. The twisted Mjolnir proved its power, breaking Thor's arm and taking down Odin. Now, Marvel's greatest heroes are coming to help - but even with their combined strength, they might not be able to pull off a victory against the Hammer.

In a new preview for Thor #22 by Donny Cates, Nic Klein, Matt Wilson, and VC's Joe Sabino, Thor faces the Mjolnir-Mangog combination and offers to help his living hammer and knock the demon out of her. The God of Hammers tells its former wielder Mjolnir isn't possessed but that it combined with Mangog and gained its own voice. The monster levels Broxton and nearly kills Odin with a powerful punch to the ground. However, before it could attack Thor and Odin again, a group of Marvel heroes arrives as backup.

The group consists of some of Marvel's greatest heroes, including Wolverine, Doctor Strange, and Beta Ray Bill. Also included in the group is The Thing, Throg, Lockjaw, and Frigga on her giant cat. Thor isn't happy to see them as he immediately urges them to run.

Thor has seen the God of Hammers level cities, realms, and his father Odin, leaving nothing but death and destruction in his wake. Despite the group of Marvel hero's best intentions, even they might not be strong enough collectively to take on the twisted version of Mjolnir. Thor doesn't want to see anyone else close to him die and urges them to run. However, that's unlikely, as they will surely fight and try to stop the God of Hammers before it destroys more of the Marvel Comics Universe. Thor #22 is in comic book stores on Wednesday.
