Sony has confirmed the PS Plus lineup for March 2022, which is even more impressive than leaks suggested given the inclusion of Ghostrunner and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. A post on the French gaming forum Dealabs leaked March 2022's PS Plus offerings this week, promising a selection packed with kart racer Team Sonic Racing and survival title Ark Survival Evolved.
Even the Dealabs-outed additions seemed a considerable step above February's catalogue of freebies - EA Sports UFC 4, Planet Coaster: Console Edition, and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure. The most vocally displeased of PS Plus subscribers especially took umbrage with the Tiny Tina-branded content, given its status as a Borderlands 2 DLC release that Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games later rebranded as a standalone expansion. Admittedly, the PlayStation service's early 2022 offerings haven't all been divisive amongst fans. January's batch of free PS Plus games was headlined by acclaimed titles such as DiRT 5 and Persona 5 Strikers. With rumors of an all-new service model that combines PS Plus and PS Now circulating, hopes remain high that Sony can consistently add quality experiences to its subscription plans.
The Dealabs leaks were partially correct. In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony confirmed that PS Plus users will indeed gain access to Ark Survival Evolved and Team Sonic Racing. But two other noteworthy titles will hit the service on March 1, as well - cyberpunk-themed action platformer Ghostrunner (PS5) and Ghost of Tsushima's Legends (PS4/PS5) multiplayer mode. Each of these adventures will exit PS Plus on Monday, April 4. It's also worth noting that those who already own the digital version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut on PS5.
This undoubtedly marks an improvement over the February 2022 offerings, which PS Plus members should claim before February 28. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends as a bonus is bound to excite all who've yet to enjoy the experience on PlayStation 5 hardware. And Ghostrunner's acclaimed, high-octane action serves as nothing short of a big get for Sony, especially since its eagerly-anticipated sequel entered development last year.
Team Sonic Racing and Ark Survival Evolved round out the lineup nicely, as well. The former launched in 2019, providing Sonic faithful with a kart racing adventure that arguably constitutes one of the long-running series' high points. Meanwhile, the creatures of Ark Survival Evolved alone make this particular MMO survival more than worthy of a free download. As a reminder, all PS Plus members would do well to add each of these titles to their game libraries when they become available next week.
