Superman & Lois Detail Means Bizarro Can Turn Ally Allston Into Parasite

Warning: Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 2, episode 4

A hidden detail in one of Bizarro’s scenes in Superman & Lois may reveal how Ally Allston (Rya Kihlstedt) will become the Arrowverse’s take on Parasite. The cult leader who appears to be the main villain of Lois’ story for Superman & Lois season 2 shares her name with a version of Parasite in DC Comics. But for the time being, that seems to be her only connection to the comic book character.

As things stand, Ally is only a problem for Lois (Bitsie Tulloch) in Smallville. Her presence in her life presents a major threat to Lois’ career as a journalist. Lois’ main goal right now is to bring down Ally’s cult and stop her from further corrupting Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan). And although she’s currently not a part of Superman’s story, it’s possible that she’ll end up getting drawn into a conflict with him as well. After all, her comic book namesake has a strong link to Superman in DC Comics. Typically, Parasite is an identity used by villains with the ability to draw energy from their opponents and use it to make themselves more powerful.

A clue pertaining to how Ally can transform to the Arrowverse’s Parasite may be found in Superman & Lois season 2, episode 4, titled “The Inverse Method”. When Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Bizarro fought on the farm, beams of energy shot out of Bizarro’s necklace and hit Superman. A fan pointed out that during this scene, Superman’s hands – which were gripping Bizarro’s shoulders – began to turn black [via Reddit]. Bizarro continued to hold Superman as the energy continued to swirl around them. For some reason, Superman wasn’t able to break away until Steel (Wolé Parks) got involved. It could be that Bizarro’s mysterious necklace was actually draining Clark’s lifeforce and strength, weaking him. If that’s true (which is a scenario that feels very likely), this could factor heavily into Ally’s Arrowverse story.

To truly become Parasite, what Ally needs is a way to steal other characters’ powers. Bizarro’s necklace could be the key to making that happen. If she were to get her hands on it, she would have the means to take powers from Clark and other metahumans. It somehow falling into her hands may very well be a story for an upcoming episode. After all, the show named her after Parasite for a reason. It also alluded to her link to the comic character when Lois referred to her as a “parasite”.

Obtaining the necklace could transform Ally from a Lois villain to an enemy of multiple characters, including Superman and even Bizarro. Not only that, but the show taking this course would make sense of where Lois’ current arc is headed and how this story is connected to Clark’s. Similar to how season 1 eventually merged the Morgan Edge and Captain Luthor plotlines, there’s an expectation that Superman & Lois season 2 will eventually do the same with Ally’s cult and the fight with Bizarro. The necklace may be what ultimately binds them together.
