Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisuian Growlithe Distribution Codes Available Now

Hisuian Growlithe distribution codes for Pokémon Legends: Arceus are now available at GameStop locations, giving new players a chance to add it to a team early. While getting Hisuian Growlithe via a code may be exciting for some, it is a curious choice for a distribution code event, which usually focuses on Legendary and Mythical Pokémon giveaways. However, those who are hoping to snag the event Growlithe will want to act fast, to ensure they get a code before supplies run out at the available locations.

Hisuian Growlithe is a fresh take on the Kantonian Fire-type that has remained a fan-favorite through all Eight Generations of the Pokémon games. The regional form of Growlithe is a Fire/Rock-type, and can only be found in the Cobalt Coastlands on the Veilstone Cape. Because the Cobalt Coastlands is the third area in the game, it can take a while before players are able to add the powerful Pokémon to their team. Additionally, the limited spawns can make filling the Pokédex entry a grind.

According to the Pokémon website, the distribution codes for Hisuian Growlithe are available at participating GameStop locations and were available starting February 25. The code also includes 20 Feather Balls, though the small number seems oddly low for a special event item. The Hisuian Growlithe from the code will be level 26, but not Shiny, and will not include any special status like an Alpha form or rare attacks. This could make it a less appealing event for those who have been playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus since release, and now have access not only to Hisuian Growlithe but the more powerful Poké Balls.

To receive Hisuian Growlithe, the website states players will need to follow a few steps after opening Pokémon Legends: Arceus. First, players will need to open their game menu and scroll using the ZL and ZR buttons to the "Mystery Gift" option. After this, players will select "Get With Code/Password" and enter the code on the distribution card. After receiving the Hisuian Growlithe, it will be important to save the game, as the code can't be redeemed twice. This is especially important for those who may have turned autosave off for Shiny hunting. The Feather Balls should automatically appear in the player's inventory, unlike past Pokémon events that required players to speak to certain NPCs to obtain gifts.

For those who aren't as interested in obtaining a common Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it is likely additional distribution events will happen for the game in the future. These code events have become a common way for Shiny Legendary Pokémon and other rare additions to be introduced to games. While there has been no information from the developer about potential Legendary and Mythical Pokémon events for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, hopefully there will be more information in the coming months.
