Dragon Age: 10 Hidden Easter Eggs Found By Redditors | ScreenRant

The news of the unionization of workers demanding better pay and work conditions in Bioware has left fans in shock. Dragon Age 4 development seems to be compromised and unluckily for players, this may delay the very much-awaited release date of the fourth title of the franchise.

Even though Tevinter has eager fans waiting to explore its new locations and stories, there are still many Wardens, Hawkes, and Inquisitors out there discovering hidden easter eggs within the Dragon Age series. And fortunately for the DA community, a lot of the findings are made by Redditors.

10 Kieran’s Grey Warden Symbol

There are many possible endings in Dragon Age: Origins if the player decides to perform the black ritual. Within the many possibilities, King Alistair or the Hero of Ferelden may be the father of Morrigan’s son.

This considered Coffee_fuel pointed out “one small thing that stood out in DAI was Morrigan giving Kieran a Grey Warden's symbol to wear as a pendant. I realize that he wears it no matter what.” Given the purpose behind Kieran’s birth, this detail reveals the respect and sense of debt that Morrigan has for the order and once fellow companions.

9 Morrigan Talking About Kieran’s Father

Alistair and the Hero of Ferelden are not the only ones that can be Kieran’s father, however. Morrigan may also conceive him with Loghain Mac Tir. Depending on which character is Kieran’s father, the Witch of the Wilds delivers different dialogues regarding this figure.

CathanCrowell mentioned her love for the different approaches Morrigan shows ‘With Loghain: “He knows nothing. Of you, of any of it. He is an innocent.” With Alistair: “He knows his father was a good man. I... thought you deserved that much.”’ This line may come as a heartwarming surprise for some fans, considering how much they bantered each other in Dragon Age: Origins.

8 Sera And The Friends Of Red Jenny

Sera was introduced in Dragon Age: Inquisition as a new character of the series, but one Reddit user spotted some of her characteristic antics in the first game of the franchise. For most fans it was surprising to know she has been around since then.

Issythebee discovered there’s a note from Red Jenny after fighting Zevran and commented "take the small painted box to a shack near Wonders of Thedas and put the small painted box into the door's slot and you will hear a small child giggle in delight”. You find the box in Irving's room during the mission Broken Circle in DA:O and Sera recalls playing with it.

7 Hawke’s Multiple Love Interests

According to Lyddibug, she decided to romance Anders, Isabela, and Fenris at the same time in Dragon Age II, and take them as companions in one of the missions. She recounts “at one point (I think it was on the Wounded Coast?), they triggered a banter about how they all had banged my character.”

Most players will choose the romantic monogamous gameplay, and even though Bioware is known to consider all the possibilities a player might choose, this comes up as just another proof of how much attention to detail the Dragon Age series puts into its scripts.

6 Love Interest’s Outfits

Dialogues are not the only thing players can unlock depending on who they romance in Dragon Age. In the second game of the series, if Hawke starts a relationship with any of the characters, each one of them will have a unique makeover.

“Merril gets a whole new outfit” rattatatouille commented, “Fenris and Isabela get more minor outfit changes […] and then there’s Anders whose outfit doesn’t change until Act 3.” Whether it is a red wristband, a new armor, or nothing at all, it is said that each change represents the amount of devotion the character has for Hawke.

5 Based On Real Life Places

In addition to its myths, the territories and cultures of Dragon Age have their basis in reality. JayManClayton was one of the fans that recognized how Orlais’ bards  “in the restaurant area sing all the songs in French (in the English version of the game).”

Orlais is evidently influenced by France’s culture. The pronunciation of the name of the empire and the accent of its people follows French phonetics. Needless to say, the masks and couture shown in Val Royeaux faithfully follow the aesthetics of the masquerade balls organized in the 15th century by royal french courts.

4 Plant Vs Zombies

Every gamer appreciates a random encounter with an easter egg, and a deleted Reddit user discovered that “in Crestwood there's a farm in which sunflowers are lined and there are corpses around them.” which is a reference to Plant vs Zombies.

The scenery in Dragon Age: Inquisition places big sunflowers in front of multiple dead bodies, and as if the reference was not clear enough, these are divided into lanes with wood planks. Somewhere around, a book explains that an apostate summoned spirits through the plants to protect her home from a demon invasion.

3 The Red Templar Ferryman

As many Dragon Age: Origins players recall, when the Warden and the companions try to cross the Lake Calenhad to access the Circle Tower, there is a distrustful ferryman called Carroll who needs to be convinced in order to start the Broken Circle mission.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition user roadtoanna noted there is a mission titled A Puppet Master, in which you have to kill Carroll. Sadly so, he has been corrupted by red lyrium and upon killing him, according to the same user, if Cullen is with the Inquisitor, ‘He tells you something like “make it quick, for my sake. I used to know this man”.’

2 Darkspawn Ambush

Every darkspawn battle is challenging, and it's not necessarily because of the difficulty level of each creature, but because they attack in numerous groups. Strategy and skill are vital for success, and unfortunately for some, the lack of these traits is deadly.

When traveling between locations in Dragon Age: Origins there's one encounter where you find a dwarf, an elf and a human murdered by darkspawn. NerdJ found this scene and commented ‘On one of them you can loot a ring and a note that says, "Why didn't we take the eagles!". Probably my favorite Easter egg that I've found.

1 Cassandra’s Armor

Cassandra is a very tough woman and a ruthless warrior in Dragon Age: Inquisition, but when it comes to literature and love, as the Inquisitor discovers in her companion quest, she is a hopeless romantic.

This is not only shown in her book interests, but as user Big_l mentioned “For higher tier armors, Cassandra's armour has hearts engraved on the boots, pauldrons and gauntlets.” It seems the Seeker of the Chantry is not that good at hiding her cheesy interests and guilty pleasures, but this is the same reason why so many fans love her.
