Even more so than other superhero teams in Marvel and DC, the X-Men offers a lot in the variety of characters who have served as members. Most mutants in Marvel have been X-Men, and these characters came in all shapes and sizes, many with overbearing personalities and others more recluse, traversing the MBTI® Type scale.
Led by Professor X, many of the members of the X-Men started there as kids while others joined as adults. There have been heroes and villains who worked on the team and on the island of Krakoa, every mutant lives there together in peace. With so much drama and complex personalities throughout the history of the X-Men, there is an MBTI® Type for everyone.
10 INTJ-A - Professor X
Professor Charles Xavier is clearly an Architect when it comes to his MBTI® Type. Not only that, but he is an Assertive Architect. He is a self-assured man who values organization and rationality when solving problems. This started out when he created the X-Men and became more controlling with Krakoa.
Professor X has to always be in charge and when he builds something, he rarely allows anyone else to convince him he is wrong. In Krakoa, he built the system with Magneto and Moria McTaggert, and even when he created a council, he kept enough secrets to ensure he ran it himself.
9 INTP-T - The Beast
The Beast shares all the traits of the Turbulent Logician. He is someone who never stops questioning things and will always work on solving the mysteries of the universe. A Logician is someone who is always inventing new things and always looking to stand out from the crowd.
However, as a Turbulent Logicvian, Beast is also someone who is not comfortable in his own skin and is an inventor who does not always take into account morality when creating his new inventions. He often causes more problems than good when it comes to his work.
8 ENTJ-T - Cyclops
When looking at the X-Men members, none exhibit the traits of the MBTI® Type of the Turbulent Commander more than Cyclops. Since the start, Cyclops was the natural X-Men leader and he served that role off and on over the years, often leading to conflicts with other members.
He is Turbulent because he often allows his own personal feelings and emotions to get in the way of his battles. However, as a true Commander, he gets things done anyway, even if this means alienating his own team.
7 ISFJ-A - Storm
Storm is the classic defender. She was a team leader who took control of controlling the X-Men and later did the same for the Morlocks. When she took leadership of that group, she remained very protective of her teammates - especially the younger members, such as Kate Pryde.

She is an Assertive Defender, someone who will step up and defend those she cares about and will go to any lengths to seek out revenge when her loved ones are hurt.
6 ENFJ-A - Jean Grey
The school for gifted mutants saw its name changed to honor Jean Grey, and that speaks volumes about what she means to the team. Jean was the first female member of the X-Men in comics and she remains one of Marvel's greatest female heroes.
She is a clear Protagonist and someone who will stand up for those around her. She is also loyal and protective -an Assertive Protagonist who will give her own life to save those she fights alongside. She has likely done this more times than any other Marvel character.
5 ENFP-A - Kate Pryde
At one time, Kitty Pryde was the youngest X-Men member, a young teenager full of spunk who wanted to prove she could be a hero. Storm became her mentor, and Wolverine a protector, before Colossus eventually became her partner when she grew up. Now, she is basically a pirate and the leader of The Mauraders.
The ENFP is a free spirit, someone who is outgoing, open-hearted, and open-minded. That was Kitty from the time she was a teenager until later in her life when her heart was broken. Despite this, she remains a free spirit, traveling the open seas and protecting people who have no one else.
4 ISTP-T - Wolverine
There are several MBTI® Types that Wolverine could logically fit into. However, the one that goes best with his skills is that of a Virtuoso. He is an introverted character, who would rather be alone than in a large group of fellow mutants, even on Krakoa.

However, he is also a good teammate who is observant and clear-thinking, something who can protect his team while completing the mission at hand. Then, when it is over, he will skip the celebration and enjoy the quiet by himself.
3 ENTP-T - Gambit
There isn't a member of the X-Men who is more clearly an ENTP-T than Gambit. He is a curious and intuitive character who often allows those traits to get him into all sorts of trouble. He is not scared to disagree with anyone and argues with friends and foes alike.
This is likely why his relationship with Rogue was always so hostile in their on-again, off-again romance. However, what makes Gambit so unique is that his attitude is not out of spite, but it is just how he communicates, which often leads to a fight.
2 ESTP-A - Emma Frost
Emma Frost is someone who won't take guff from anyone and she will do anything in her power to keep her power. She is one of the wealthiest mutants in the world thanks to her entrepreneurship, the actual name of the ESTP trait in the MBTI® Types.
Once Krakoa formed, Emma was right there to take part in one of the main leadership positions. When she realized other leaders lied to her, she took it one step further and remained independent and in complete control. There isn't a mutant on the planet that is more of an Entrepreneur than Emma Frost.
1 ESFP-A - Dazzler
In the MBTI® Type descriptions, the ESFP is an Entertainer. These people are extroverted and love vibrant experiences. They also take life eagerly and take pleasure in discovering new things. When the word entertainer is mentioned when it comes to the X-Men, it fits Dazzler perfectly.
Dazzler is a mutant that can create lights from the vibrations of sound. In the start, she used this to create amazing stage shows in her main job as a musician. Her power alone is in the description of the ESFP, with the vibrant experiences and her role as a musician making her the perfect entertainer.
