Bachelor In Paradise: Becca & Thomas Relationship Timeline

Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs of Bachelor in Paradise were one of the most unexpected couples to come out of season 7, but they are now engaged and happier than ever, so fans are celebrating their relationship. Bachelor Nation first met Becca when she got engaged to Arie Luyendyk on The Bachelor season 22 in 2018. However, in a shocking twist, Arie changed his mind and broke up with Becca for his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. Fans had fallen in love with Becca, and, later that year, she starred in her own season of The Bachelorette. Becca got engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen, but they announced their split in September 2020.

Thomas had a very different experience with the franchise, as he was painted as a villain on Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette in 2021. While competing for Katie's heart, he made the mistake of admitting to the other contestants that he had thoughts of being the next Bachelor if his relationship with Katie did not work out. Although he changed his mind after he actually met her, the rest of the men on Katie's season did not trust him, and Katie told him to leave. Thomas seemed to have sealed his fate as a Bachelor Nation bad guy.

When Thomas arrived in Mexico for Bachelor In Paradise, his former castmates began to rehash all of the negativity from Katie's season. However, Thomas seemed sincere in his determination to find love on the beach on the popular spin-off. When Becca arrived, she approached everyone with a clean slate, and gave Thomas a chance despite his reputation. Bachelor in Paradise season 7 lovebirds Thomas and Becca, or Tommy and Boops as they affectionately call each other, soon became inseparable, and one of the most surprising matches in Paradise. Their relationship timeline is full of love and excitement, all leading to their engagement.

Becca and Thomas had an instant connection when they met on Bachelor In Paradise season 7. They had a fun and flirty relationship, and even attended the '80s-themed Paradise Prom together. The pair also had many heart-to-heart talks and really opened up to each other in a way few other couples did. They seemed as though they were on the road to leaving Bachelor In Paradise together, but Becca ended things when she did not feel ready to commit to Thomas on the final day. She told him that everything felt too good to be true and it scared her. Thomas told her that he was falling in love with her, but Becca said that she had not seen any of that. A tearful Thomas left, crying that he did not want Becca to have any "what-ifs." She later admitted privately that she had been looking for the vulnerability that he had shown, but it was too late.

Becca immediately regretted her decision to break up with Thomas. As soon as the show returned her cell phone, she called him to apologize, and they got back together. Their reconciliation was announced during the Bachelor in Paradise season 7 finale.

Becca was thrilled to be able to spend Thanksgiving with her family in Minnesota after missing the previous year due to COVID-19. She was also so happy to bring Thomas home to meet her family. Becca gave him a tour of all of the special places in Minnesota that made her who she is.

In the what Becca called "the ultimate plot twist," she proposed to Thomas and he said yes. In an Instagram post, Becca shared that they have been engaged for a while, explaining that they have been keeping the secret between just them and their close family and friends. They are now so excited to "shout it from the rooftops!"
