The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has been presented with a fan-made version of Boba Fett's gaffi stick. Morrison made his first official appearance as Boba Fett in The Mandalorian season 2, where he was seen on Tatooine at the end of episode 1. He made his full return in "Chapter 14: The Tragedy" alongside Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand, and teamed up with Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) for an epic fight against Moff Gideon's (Giancarlo Esposito) stormtroopers.
As Boba had to go about five years without his armor, most of that fight showed his skills with a gaffi stick. In The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the weapon originates from the Tusken Raiders, with multiple purposes for it in their way of life on Tatooine's brutal Dune Sea. Outside of the Star Wars universe, the gaffi stick finds its inspiration from the Fijian weapon called the totokia, which connects closely to Morrison's own Pacific Islander background. The Māori actor was able to weave his own culture with that of the Tuskens in the Star Wars galaxy, which made for an impactful celebration in The Book of Boba Fett episode 2, when Boba was able to partake in a ceremonial retrieval and creation of his gaffi stick.
Now, Morrison has been gifted a fan-made version of Boba's gaffi stick by Sons of Obiwan Saber Academy. In a video posted to YouTube, the group share their experience meeting Morrison at a convention, where they first presented him with a t-shirt as well as a plaque that made him an "Honorary Master" of their academy. Morrison, who has already thrown on the new t-shirt, lights up with excitement when he is handed the gaffi stick made just for him. After he jokingly warns onlookers to "step back a bit," Morrison shows off his skills while wielding the new stick. See the full video below:

The impact of Morrison's Māori representation in The Book of Boba Fett has been resounding, and to see him honored in such a way for it is nothing short of amazing. Morrison was granted permission to add such parts of his Māori culture into Boba's character, which helped to provide a fresh take on not just him, but also the culture of the Tuskens in Star Wars as well. Rather than just being "raiders," the Tuskens have now been given a chance to be developed as tribes with meaningful traditions, with much of that work being done by Morrison and his time spent as Boba.
As for the bounty hunter's story, it's currently unknown if The Book of Boba Fett season 2 will happen. With many upcoming live-action Star Wars projects on the horizon, there could be many opportunities for Boba and Fennec to make an appearance in other shows. They could return Din's favor and help with his journey towards Mandalore in The Mandalorian season 3, or maybe even cross paths with Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) in her upcoming, self-titled series. Morrison himself could be seen portraying clones of his first Star Wars role as Boba's father Jango Fett, such as Commander Cody in Obi-Wan Kenobi or Captain Rex in Ahsoka. No matter where he may appear next in the Star Wars universe, his impact with the work he's done thus far is resounding and will always be remembered.
