Selling Sunset: How Big Is Romain's Age Gap With Mary Fitzgerald

The Selling Sunset couple Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet have been a fan-favorite couple for five seasons, and viewers are curious about their large age gap. Throughout their time on the show, they have had to deal with issues in their relationship due to being in different stages of their lives. From starting a family to fighting about finances, they have had some ups and downs, but still manage to make things work. Although they got married during season 2, fans found out that Mary and Romain had actually officially married prior to being on the series.

Many Selling Sunset fans were dubious about Mary and Romain’s relationship when she introduced him as her boyfriend in season 1. The pastry chef and model was much younger than Selling Sunset's Mary, who has a son from a previous marriage, and an established career at The Oppenheim Group. Along with co-star Davina Potratz, Romain got slammed by the show's fans. Viewers didn't like it that he gave Mary a Moissanite engagement ring. However, Romain worked hard and eventually earned enough to gift her a real diamond ring, which she showed off on her Instagram page.

Despite their big age gap, Romain and Mary are still going strong. Mary at 41, is thirteen years older than Romain, who is 28. Still, the couple faces challenges, such as Romain wanting to have children and Mary being reluctant to start her parenting journey again. Mary had her son Austin Babbitt when she was just 16 years old. However, she shared that she was open to having children with Romain, and went through the process of freezing her eggs. Although she made steps to start a family, Mary still expressed her fear that having kids would cause a strain on her and Romain’s marriage.

Romain has joined Mary in the real estate world and is working as a project manager for The Oppenheim Group. She praised him as “a great leader” and “very hardworking.” His new role has been keeping him busy and Mary, who is the new managing partner of The Oppenheim Group, has shared that they are usually exhausted at the end of the day. This is part of the reason why she's reluctant to have a baby.

Since Selling Sunset season 1, fans have doubted that Roman and Mary could keep their relationship going. Their big age gap has come with its fair share of difficulties. Only time will tell whether or not Mary takes the big step of starting a family with Romain. Although they have had trouble seeing eye-to-eye on many things, the real estate mogul has shared that she and Romain have gotten better at communicating, and the power couple is proving that they are able to work through their problems and stay together.
