Pokémon GO: Glalie Raid Guide (Stats & Counters) | Screen Rant

Glalie can be defeated in tier-three raids in Pokémon GO using a strong team of Pokémon with super-effective moves. After defeating the raid boss, players will have a chance to catch Glalie. Although a Shiny version of Glalie exists in the game, the raid boss currently can't spawn one after being defeated. However, Glalie can be Mega Evolved. Winning raids against Glalie will help players earn Mega Energy to evolve it.

It's possible for players to defeat Glalie alone, but since it appears as a tier-three raid boss, it's recommended that a few other trainers join the battle. Players can invite their friends in Pokémon GO after starting a raid by using the button on the right side of the screen above the selected Pokémon team. Defeating Glalie quickly will award more Premier Balls that can be used to try to catch it after the raid is won.

As an Ice-type Pokémon, Glalie's stats can be boosted by snowy weather. Without the boost, it usually appears with a CP over 14,000, and it can be caught at a CP between 1,138 and 1,203. The caught Glalie's health, defense, and attack stats will depend on if it is a one, two, or three-star Pokémon. Glalie can be appraised after being caught to view its star rating and various stats.

Glalie is an Ice-type Pokémon, so it's weak against Fire-, Fighting-, Rock-, and Steel-type moves. There are a lot of Pokémon that can work well for defeating Glalie, but they will need to have the right moveset. In order to change a Pokémon's moves, players will need to use Fast TMs and Charged TMs. These items can be obtained by winning raids, spinning PokéStops, and completing certain Research Tasks in Pokémon GO.

  • Mega Y Charizard/Mega X Charizard: Fire Spin and Blast Burn
  • Mega Houndoom: Fire Fang and Flamethrower
  • Mega Lopunny: Low Kick and Focus Blast
  • Reshiram: Fire Fang and Overheat
  • Metagross: Bullet Punch and Meteor Smash
  • Terrakion: Smack Down and Sacred Sword
  • Lucario: Counter and Aura Sphere
  • Rhyperior: Smack Down and Rock Wrecker
  • Conkeldurr: Counter and Dynamic Punch
  • Darmanitan: Fire Fang and Overheat

Once Glalie is defeated, players will be given some Premier Balls to try to catch it. The number of attempts depends on how fast Glalie was defeated, how much damage the player dealt, friendship levels with participating trainers, and whether or not other trainers are part of the same team. A Razz Berry or Golden Razz Berry can be used to increase catch chances. Glalie is just one of many tier-three raid bosses that can be defeated and caught in Pokémon GO.
