10 Best Doctor Strange Comics Characters Not In The MCU

Obscure characters from Doctor Strange lore such as Rintrah have appeared in the trailers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, indicating the movie will reach deep into the comics to tell the Sorceror Supreme's new cinematic tale. But there are still a number of major characters from Doctor Strange comics who have yet to appear in the MCU, including some of his biggest allies and enemies.

Major Doctor Strange villains such Nightmare have yet to appear in the MCU, though that could change as soon as the new movie. Allies and love interests such as Clea also haven't made it into live-action, but they're equally as likely to show up at some point.

Topaz is a complicated character from Doctor Strange comics who could very well appear in the future of the MCU. She spent some time with the Sorcerer Supreme in some of the best Doctor Strange comics of the 1980s trying to recover the missing parts of her soul.

She also has a strong connection to Werewolf by Night. Topaz helped control Jack Russell's transformations into a werewolf, and with that character appearing in the upcoming Marvel Studios Halloween Special, it's not unlikely Topaz will appear in some form as well.

Brother Voodoo is one of the most powerful magicians in the Marvel Universe and is all but certain to appear in the MCU at some point. Brother Voodoo first appeared in Strange Tales #159 and has been a major part of the mystical side of the Marvel Universe ever since.

This powerful magician has teamed up with Doctor Strange on a number of occasions over the years. He ever took over as the Sorcerer Supreme in the comics after the Eye of Agamotto abandons Doctor Strange in the early 2000s.

Magik has yet to appear in the MCU but it's highly likely she will in the near future. Though Illyana Rasputin is most commonly considered a member of the New Mutants and one of the most powerful X-Men, she has a strong connection to Doctor Strange.

Magik is a powerful sorceress and wielder of the Soul Sword who has been the Sorcerer Supreme in an alternate reality presented in What If..? comics. When she appears in the MCU, it could be in connection with Doctor Strange. She may even appear very soon if one of the dimensions Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness visits is Limbo, the dimension she was once trapped in.

Sara Wolfe is one of the most significant supporting characters from Doctor Strange comics who has yet to appear in the MCU. She served as Doctor Strange's 'business manager' at the Sanctum Santorum in the comics for most of the 70s and 80s.

Sara also had a romance with Wong and that could be how she is introduced in the MCU. In fact, Sara could be the basis for a mysterious character who has been teased in some of the leaked merchandise for the upcoming movie.

Doctor Strange has fought Dormammu, one of his most powerful villains, in the MCU but he's yet to face off against his minions. The Mindless Ones are the infinite armies of Dormammu who hail from the Dark Dimension where he resides.

The Mindless Ones could be the demonic creatures seen in some of the TV spots fighting Wong and Scarlet Witch, but if they don't appear in the upcoming movie, it's likely they'll appear at some point when and if Dormammu returns to menace Doctor Strange again.

The Silver Surfer is one of the most powerful cosmic characters in the Marvel Universe and one of the most important yet to appear in the MCU. He has a major connection to Doctor Strange through the Defenders, the team they've both been long associated with.

The Silver Surfer is certain to appear in the MCU now that Marvel Studios has the Fantastic Four galaxy of characters back in the fold. The herald of Galactus could appear ahead of them though, depending on how crazy Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gets.

Nightmare is a major Doctor Strange villain who appeared along with Stephen Strange in his first appearance in Strange Tales #110. He's one of the biggest villains of the Sorcerer Supreme who has yet to appear in the MCU, but it's a question of when not if.

Nightmare could appear in the upcoming movie. A number of trailers and TV spots have made references to nightmares both Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch are having, which could be a sign that Nightmare is involved in some way.

Another major Doctor Strange villain who has yet to appear in the MCU is D'Spayre. This character is a member of the Fear Lords and subsists on the fear of others. He's fought Doctor Strange and other Marvel superheroes a number of times since his debut in 1978.

D'Spayre was a demonic figure created by the Dweller In Darkness, a powerful entity who did appear in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. This likely signals that D'Spayre isn't too far behind in the MCU.

Shuma-Gorath is an extremely powerful cosmic entity and one of the most terrifying characters in Doctor Strange lore who has yet to appear in the MCU. He has the power to create and destroy entire universes and is based somewhat on the creatures from Lovecraftian mythology.

Shuma-Gorath could be appearing in the MCU very soon and actually, may have already. A tentacled monster appeared in episodes of What If..? and seems to be in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and one or both could be Shuma-Gorath.

As the longtime love interest of Doctor Strange and a powerful sorceress, Clea is perhaps the most significant character from Doctor Strange comics yet to appear in the MCU. She's only become more so now that she has taken over as the Sorcerer Supreme in the comics.

Clea is the daughter of Dormammu and Umar from the Dark Dimension and she's a major part of many major storylines in Doctor Strange comics. That all but guarantees she appears at some point and perhaps even as soon as the upcoming movie.
