Doctor Strange 2 Posters Show 6 New & Returning MCU Characters

Marvel shares new character posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel to Doctor Strange is shaping up to be an epic event film, following on the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home and promising even more characters from the far reaches of the multiverse. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, with Sam Raimi directing.

Marvel Entertainment released the new character posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, featuring heroes and villains. Each poster sees a character's face front and center, with a red magic mist obscuring parts of their visage. Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, and Wong's Wong are all featured on their own poster, but Marvel also included posters for Ejiofor's Mordo, McAdams' Dr. Christine Palmer, and Gomez's America Chavez. Check out the new character posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, below.

While the posters don't give away any story details, the choice of characters present may give a few details. For Example, McAdams' Christine Palmer was in Doctor Strange but had a minor part. With her character featured on their own poster, it could point to McAdams having a more significant or even a more impactful role in the sequel. Gomez's America Chavez being featured also points to the importance of the character, as her ability to hop between universes is likely to play a big part. Chavez is also said to be the first openly gay hero in the MCU, meaning her poster is an important step toward LGBTQ+ inclusion in the franchise. Audiences can see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when it opens on May 6.
