10 The Grudge (2004)

In the 2004 remake of the Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge, Karen is a student in Tokyo who discovers a scary curse when people pass away while they're very sad or angry. The movie is definitely considered a terrifying story.

9 The Innkeepers (2011)
