Destiny 2 Witch Queen: Best Hawkmoon & DMT Rolls To Buy From Xur

The Dead Man's Tale Scout Rifle and Hawkmoon Hand Cannon are among the best Exotic weapons in Destiny 2, and, beginning in the Witch Queen expansion, players will be able to purchase these weapons every weekend from Xur. Both the "Presage" and "Harbinger" missions will be unavailable starting in the Witch Queen expansion as well, but Bungie has stated that they still would like players to be able to earn random rolls for both the DMT and Hawkmoon Handcannon. With the "Presage" and "Harbinger" missions gone, Xur is the next best source for purchasing these two Exotic weapons.

Xur is one of the many vendors in Destiny 2 that sells Exotic items every weekend. Both Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon will be part of Xur's inventory every weekend once the Witch Queen expansion begins, and, every weekend, the two weapons will have a different roll available for purchase. Since both the Dead Man's Tale Scout Rifle and Hawkmoon Hand Cannon will cost many materials, players should save their materials for the best rolls available.

Both Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon will be available for purchase in Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion for the price of an Ascendant Shard, an Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, and 200 Legendary Shards. Many of these materials will be more easily available for players who complete ranks and earn rewards in Destiny 2's Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard activities, but gathering all required resources can be a time-consuming process. There isn't a set limit on how many of these materials players can earn in a Destiny 2 season, but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't readily available to collect.

There are several perk options for both Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon that make them extremely desirable Exotics, regardless of whether players choose to play PvP or PvE more frequently in Destiny 2. Particularly for Hawkmoon, players will have an easier time finding a good PvE roll since most of its perks are better suited for PvP. For Dead Man's Tale, players may want to consider purchasing either separate rolls for the Exotic Scout Rifle or a good all-encompassing roll.

These are the best Dead Man's Tale perks in Destiny 2:

  • Legendary Barrel: Chambered Compensator; Hammer-Forged Rifiling; Smallbore
  • Legendary Magazine: Richochet Rounds; High-Caliber Rounds; Armor-Piercing Rounds (PvE); Accurized Rounds (PvP)
  • Legendary Trait: Subsistence; Vorpal Weapon; Outlaw; Fourth Time's The Charm (PvE); Moving Target (PvP)
  • Legendary Stock: The Fitted Stock or Hand-Laid Stocks are ideal, but none of the four Legendary Stocks has a drawback.

These are the best Hawkmoon perks in Destiny 2, and it should be noted that all rolls drop with the Alloy Magazine:

  • Legendary Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling; Hammer-Forged Rifling; Smallbore
  • Legendary Trait: Opening Shot; Rangefinder; Moving Target
  • Legendary Grip: Heavy Grip; Polymer Grip; Smooth Grip
