Animal Crossing Fan Perfectly Recreates Jurassic Park's Kitchen Scene

A clever Animal Crossing: New Horizons players has recreated the famous kitchen scene from Jurassic Park using in-game toy items. Many Animal Crossing players love recreating movie scenes or making replicas of famous places in-game, as the title offers almost endless creative options to players. Some of these builds are incredibly detailed, and show the extreme design potential of the game.

Design has always been a big part of the Animal Crossing series, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons has given players the most potential yet in the series - the game includes thousands of items, including over 9,000 new pieces added in the Animal Crossing 2.0 update. The game's decorating-centric DLC Happy Home Paradise expanded options for players even more when it comes to interior design, adding things like partition walls, lighting effects, and soundscapes. There are many holidays in the game - which operates in real time - that have their own special items associated with them, and these are available for limited windows of time. In December, Animal Crossing players can purchase special toys at Nook's Cranny like dolls, plushies, and dinosaurs.

Reddit user Own-Wrangler-4747 shared an excellent recreation of the classic Jurassic Park kitchen scene this week that hilariously uses the Dinosaur Toy item as a fill-in for the velociraptors in the film. They've included the human characters of Timmy and Lex who are quaking, using the Distress and Fearful emotes respectively. The player has utilized many of the industrially-stylized Kitchen Set items to bring the scene together, as well as items like the Serving Cart and Ironwood Cupboard. One of the most clever additions is the changed lighting effects, with the player giving the room a darker, gray-ish tint that better recreates the ambiance of the scene.

Although there have been many clever movie recreations by Animal Crossing players since New Horizons released, the juxtaposition between the inherently cute nature of the game and the horror of the movie scene makes this design particularly entertaining. Unless it's near Halloween, it's somewhat rare to see scarier Animal Crossing creations be shared online, as it can be difficult to even begin to capture something scary in such an adorable title. This player paid an impressive amount of attention to even the smaller details of the scene, like the wall fans present in the kitchen, and it appears they've even utilized a custom pattern to recreate the shelves of ingredients that line the walls.

This player creation is the perfect blend of frightening and funny, with the lighting and expressions of the characters conveying the fear of the scene while the tiny stature of the Dinosaur Toys offers an amusing contrast. This design is the latest example of how the creative community of Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to thrive even over two years after release. Even so far into the game's lifespan, players are finding fun new things to make in their games and inspiring others online with their creations, which helps keep the game feeling fresh and interesting.
