James Wan confirms the return of Valak actor for The Nun 2 . The upcoming film follows 2018's The Nun , a gothic supernatural horror film that takes place in the same universe as 2013's The Conjuring ; more specifically, the film is a prequel/spin-off to The Conjuring 2 , which premiered in 2016. Each of these films is included in what is now referred to as " The Conjuring Universe." The Nun , directed by Corin Hardy and adapted from a story by Wan and Gary Dauberman, follows a priest and nun in 1952 Romania as they uncover demonic forces within the Roman Catholic church. The most haunting shape these forces take is that of the malicious Demon Nun, an incarnation of the legendary demon Valak. The latest TV spot for  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  has revealed several members of the Illuminati, and the anticipation for Marvel Studios' first film of the year couldn’t be higher. Audiences are betting that the movie could make more on opening weekend than Spider-Man: No Way Home , which collected a staggering $260 million, second only to Avengers: Endgame . While 2015’s belated sequel Fury Road was critically acclaimed upon its release, one of the  earliest drafts of the Mad Max sequel  was a bizarre adventure that saw Max unknowingly transporting a vial of semen cross-country. As this premise indicates, there are times when the creators of Mad Max need boundaries for their imaginations to flourish. Another such instance occurred when Mad Max: Fury Road ’s director George Miller wanted the movie to be shot in 3D, an expensive folly that would have massively increased the sequel’s already sizable budget.
