90 Day Fiancé: Why Viewers Believe Usman Welcomes Relationship Drama

Usman “Sojaboy” Umar from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days has had his fair share of relationship drama, but many viewers are beginning to think he welcomes it. Sojaboy is a 33-year-old from Nigeria. He’s a popular rapper, which has appeared to contribute to his relationship problems. He has been on the franchise spin-off two times. The first time was with his now ex-wife “Baby Girl” Lisa Hamme. Now, he’s with his new love interest, Kimberly Menzies. However, the relationship isn’t going well between the two.

When Usman appeared on the show with Lisa, viewers predicted their demise. Lisa has a powerful and jealous personality. Meanwhile, Usman is more easygoing. Not only did Lisa disapprove of his family, but the two constantly argued and many viewers called the relationship abusive. Despite the obvious red flags, 90DF's Usman and Lisa got married, but their marriage didn’t last long. While waiting for the divorce to finalize, he met Kimberly, who has an equally forceful personality compared to his ex-wife. Although her jealousy is a tad bit more manageable, the two have had a rocky start and many viewers believe Sojaboy brings the drama upon himself.

Kimberly doesn’t believe Usman reciprocates her feelings, and this led to a huge fight. After taking back jewelry and throwing water in his face, she’s ready to return to the US as a single woman. During his confessional, he tells the cameras that the women in his country are completely submissive and wonders if all American women are as bold. However, it’s been 90DF's Usman's decision all along to date an American woman. He also knew of Kimberly’s tendency to blow up before they made the relationship official.

The first woman he dated on the show was a middle-aged woman who struggled to control her behavior and the same thing is happening the second time around. It appears Usman searches for these types of women. Usman and Kimberly have been communicating for a year and they were together in person for some time before making their relationship official, so Usman was aware of Kimberly’s flaws. Additionally, he wasn’t honest from the beginning, which would have prevented the argument. 90DF's Usman pursued the relationship regardless.

While it’s understandable that dating an American might be a culture shock, Usman has continued to search out of his comfort zone. Perhaps if he truly wanted a submissive woman, he would stick within his culture. Although some viewers believe Usman uses the show to boost his fame and career, which explains why he would tolerate this behavior. The episode ended with Sojaboy requesting Kimberly meet him at the pool and fans are keen to see where this tumultuous couple ends up on the future episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
