Thanksgiving Box Office: Hunger Games Upsets Disney’s Wish To Keep Top Spot, Projections Show

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has trounced Disney's Wish at the domestic box office. Wish is Walt Disney Animation Studios' only animated feature released during the company's centennial celebration in 2023, and the movie - which features the iconic wishing star as a character - is chock-full of references to Disney movies past. It opened just five days after Songbirds and Snakes, which is a prequel to the Hunger Games movies, the last of which premiered in 2015.
