Discovery Has Double The Ranks Of Other Star Trek Shows

There's a lot of unusual redundancy in Star Trek: Discovery, and the USS Discovery has doubled many of the ranks seen in other Star Trek shows. Star Trek: Discovery season 5 promises a shift in tone to more adventure and exploration, as Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and her crew go on a hunt for "the greatest treasure in the known galaxy." As with prior seasons, the Discovery will launch into this new mission with a crew complement that contains more than one Starfleet Officer serving in a key capacity.
