The death of Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame was one of the most heartbreaking in cinema, but it saved Spider-Man from an even sadder goodbye in No Way Home. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland have both professed a fondness for one another, and that relationship extended to their on-screen MCU counterparts. In many ways, Iron Man was a father figure to Peter Parker, helping him grow as a superhero and as a young man.
