Ever since it premiered on Netflix, the South Korean survival series has quickly turned into one of the most popular television series in recent memory. Although the premise — which sees a bunch of financially desperate characters competing in deadly games for a chance at a big cash prize — is familiar, the dystopian action series took both audiences and critics by storm, revitalizing international dramas along the way.
