Pixar Finally Breaks A Disastrous 5-Movie Trend, But Now Disney Must Do Better

Elemental was originally projected to lose money, but the movie has actually made a profit at the box office, ending a bad Pixar streak. The 2023 film is the latest release from Pixar, the studio known for delivering the gold standard of animation. Elemental has a premise that's typical of Pixar projects. The film takes place in Element City, where all the elements must find a way to live together. Unlike any previous Pixar movie, Elemental is a romantic comedy, and classic rom-coms had a clear influence on director Peter Sohn.
